NFL Week 2 Predictions

Bal @ Cin -1: This is going to be a slugfest. I think these teams are about equal, but it’s a Thursday night, so I’m rolling with the Bengals pretty comfortably.

Car @ Atl -6: The Falcons being 6-point-favorites after their less than impressive Week 1 doesn’t seem right, especially given how tough of a time this team has finishing drives. However, Carolina wasn’t impressive either, and I think the extra rest gives the Falcons a 10-point win.

LAC @ Buf +7.5: Man, the Bills suck. The Chargers were a couple drops away from last week’s game being really close. I think they clean it up and win big.

Min @ GB -1: People seem to forget that the Packers were down 20 at home last week and looked like crap for an entire half. I think Minnesota wins outright.

Hou @ Ten +1.5: I don’t want to overreact to Tennessee’s loss last week because it was such a weird game, but I just was not impressed. Houston looked a little better in the 4th quarter against New England and I think they ride that momentum out into a win.

Cle @ NO -8.5: If the Saints play like last week this could be really ugly – but I don’t think they will. I like Saints by 10-14.

Mia @ NYJ -3: I think one of these teams may end up 8-8, I’m just not sure which one. I’d roll with the Jets for now.

KC @ Pit -4: Remember last week when the Chiefs went on the road and demolished a good team and couldn’t be stopped? I don’t see any reason they can’t do that again. Chiefs +4.

Phi @ TB +3.5: Fitzpatrick vs Foles is a 2010 backup matchup that I didn’t know I needed. There’s no way Tampa replicates last week against that defense. Eagles cover.

Ind @ Was -6: If this was closer to 3 I would lean Washington, but the Colts could win this game outright, so 6 seems too high.

Ari @ LA -13: I think the Rams cover in the first quarter and never look back.

Det @ SF -6: I don’t want to overreact to how bad Stafford and Jimmy G looked last week, an I’m expecting both to play pretty well. This boils down to Shanahan vs. Patricia, and that advantage is worth 6 to me. SF covers.

Oak @ Den -6: I think the Raiders cover here. They were slightly more competent than I expected, and the Broncos still don’t look quite right.

NE @ Jax +1: This one feels personal. Pats by a field goal.

NYG @ Dal -3: Eli was so, so bad last weekend, but there were glimpses of excitement from the New York offense. The same can’t be said about Dallas, I think the Giants cover.

Sea @ Chi -3.5: This is such a veteran vs. up-and-comer matchup and as much as I’d like to see a statement win from the Bears, I could very easily see a Seahawks win and the Bears being 0-2.
