The Week in Sports 5/3/18

Slight delay this week as I've been spending time with an estranged friend of mine, the sun. Let's get to it.

Stephen Curry returned for the Warriors in Game 2 and immediately put up a 3 in his comeback. This is not to be confused with Dennis Miller's week, who took 3 to put up a comeback.

Russell Westbrook, after several confrontations with Jazz fans, made remarks about how rude the crowd in Utah is and said that he hates when fans get into players' personal space. I wonder how he feels about the fans in Toronto...

Prior to those comments, Westbrook took 46 shots in the game 7 loss to the Jazz. In my opinion, it's tough to win with Russ with 46, but much easier to win with Russ with, I don't know, 35?

In the NFL, there was a small thing last week they call the draft. Saquan Barkley of Penn State went number 2 overall behind Baker Mayfield. To be fair, there was no chance that Saquan would go first because we all know that Barkleys never finish better than runner-up.

Jason Witten announced his retirement from the Cowboys today after being highly sought after as an analyst for Monday Night Football. That officially leaves the number of football-savvy Jasons left in Dallas at 0.

In the business world, Sprint and T-Mobile announced their intent to merge this week. It's a move that could change the cell phone industry. It's rumored that their new headquarters will be in Jacksonville, as the city already understands what it's like to be surrounded by crappy reception.

On a more serious note, after reading the Redskins cheerleader story, it's time to blow the Washington football franchise up and start over. This franchise can't seem to get much right at the moment. Whether it's mocking other people's or exposing their cheerleaders', I think it's time this organization leaves everyone else's skin alone.
